From a very young age I have enjoyed working with fabric;
Surrounded by builders and knitters, my textile journey started when my father gave me a little black Singer Featherweight sewing machine for my ninth birthday (which I still currently use). From sewing ensembles for dolls to clothing for myself and later my family. I then moved on to embroidery, doll-making, patchwork and fabric art.
I find I am inspired by my own experiences; a fascination with architecture and personal heritage, sharing ideas with like-minded people, and constantly learning, all accumulates as the tactile journey progresses.
I love textiles because … it never ceases to amaze me what can be created from a piece of fabric. It takes time and thought to create art from cloth and results can be very intricate, thought provoking and stunning
